ACCESSIBILITY
Built to be used
by everyone.
Support that people can’t reach isn’t support. This is how we approach accessibility, and where we fall short.
Our target
We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA across this website.
What we do
- Semantic landmarks and headings, with a “skip to main content” link on every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. Dialogs use the native modal element, which traps and restores focus.
- Forms have visible labels, and errors are announced to screen readers.
- The animated walkthrough can be skipped at any point, and respects the “reduce motion” setting on your device.
- Text is resizable, and layouts respond from small phones to wide desktops without horizontal scrolling.
- Meaning is never carried by colour alone, and informative images have text alternatives.
How we test
Every release runs automated checks with the axe accessibility engine on each page and on the interactive dialogs, together with keyboard-driven end-to-end tests. Automated tools find only part of the problems, so these checks supplement manual review rather than replace it.
Known limitations
- We haven’t yet had an independent accessibility audit or testing with disabled users.
- Large headlines sit over photographic artwork. We tune contrast for the text, but automated tools can’t verify text over images.
- The decorative artwork is described briefly; it is not essential to understanding the content.
